I just read an article that Saab is back and restarting production of the 9-3. I didn't even know that this was going on?!

NEV, the Chinese company that owns Saab now has about 600 employees in a plant in Trollhattan Sweden. They are ready to build a "modest" number of gas-powered 9-3's and plan on making an electric version next year. It sounds like these would be the same 9-3's as what GM/Spyker built.
The article stated that the intended markets would be Sweden and China, and there might be a launch event Monday. I was able to view the entire article by googling it. If you look for it directly through the Wall Street Journal you might get asked for subscription info. If you do a news search for Saab you should be able to get it.

It certainly is! Well not in the same way we'd expect.

Do correct me if I'm wrong. I remember reading that NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden) is only going to build a few of the 9-3s to generate some income to develop an electric drivetrain for use in their 9-3 or subsequent models. So it probably won't be the Saab we've come to love and adore sadly.

On a side note, I'll never forget reading a speech for my brother's wedding in September that read:

"Tonight is the night of nights. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't prepare for a day as epic as today. A day so important that Morgan Freeman will narrate a movie about it. The masses will be so unprepared for what will occur that massive influx the tweets, instagrams, facebook posts and even google+ will cause social media networks to shut down. September 14 will be a national holiday one day. Bruce Willis will have a 6th Die Hard movie loosely based on the events that will occur today. It'll star Samuel L Jackson too because the third film was just awesome. The Queen cancelled all her plans today to attend. Air Force One will be there. Not Obama, just the plane. Saab will start making cars again because of this day. And most importantly, James Bond will be there. Sean Connery though. Not Daniel Craig. Just a personal preference really. I mean the man was also Captain of the Enterprise and lead of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The very first **insert last name here** brother gets married today."

And then four days later on September 18th, I see this post on Jalopnik...

The First New Saab Just Rolled Off The Assembly Line In Sweden

The look on my face was similar to this.

Not trying to make fun of Swedes or Swedish itself; one of my closest friends is Swedish. This is what I thought of when I saw "Trollhattan".

It's likely only going to be production for China and possibly certain European countries.

Read this article, its written by a guy who worked for Saab right up until the bankruptcy and he has a number of contacts in NEVS. His blog has some more insight on the possibility of the return of the old Saab H-Engine, the 9-3 being used as a Taxi in China, and the very limited likelihood of a US/UK/Australia return.
